I haven't done anything to my nails lately as I am waiting for my rhinestones to arrive =) but I wanted to post something here so I thought I would post a tip up for nail stamping.

I find it hard to decide what I want to stamp on my nail and hard to visualize whether it will fit on my nail or not......but i've figured out a pretty good way to get around it
1. Blank clear cd protectors. When you buy a stack or cds/ dvds in a roll they have clear blank plastic discs that protect the cds at the top and bottom.

2. stamp on them
3. Now you can place them on white paper and see how your design will look like when you stamp it and it will also allow you to get a better idea of what your designs look like/ what designs you have. I sometimes find looking at the metal plate difficult on the eyes and.................. you can put the clear disc on top of your nail to see what it would look like if you stamped your nail.
so that's all

I apoligze for the english, I hope you understand me it's 1:20 am right now and I should go to sleep but I felt that I had to put something on my blog.

btw my collection has been steadily growing =)

oh yes, I'm going to london drugs tomorrow...similiar to a sallys but a bit more expensive and I hope to get my hands on opi or china glaze nail polish...it's been on my wish list. I actually only own sally hansen, wet n wild, avon , 2 essies and no name brand nail polishes. I would love to get my hands on an opi or china glaze. wish me luck on finding some stuff on sale

VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPICS!!!!

here are my Mukmuks...the Vancouver island marmot.

The Vancouver Island marmot is an extremely rare and endangered species unique to the mountains of Vancouver Island. Learn about Vancouver Island marmots and other endangered species at www.marmots.org.

soooooooo I can't take it anymore

I wanted to save this for tomorrow so I could post something everyday...I'm trying to really get into this whole blogging thing but I need to show you guys this....

This was inspired by the 2010 Vancouver olympics and http://ilovenailpolish.blogspot.com/
I don't live in Vancouver but quite close so I am getting engulfed in the olympic celebration.

It's mukmuk. I am quite proud of it. It's my first time using brushes. the color isn't an ideal match but I only own about 15 polishes right now so I tried my best.

Who is he?
He is the sidekick to the vancouver 2010 olympic mascots.

I grabbed this description from here:

http://www.vancouver2010.com/mascot/en/profile_mm.php

Mukmuk is a small and friendly Vancouver Island marmot who always supports and cheers loudly for his friends during games and races.

When he is not hibernating or sunbathing on rocks and logs, he enjoys getting out to meet other types of marmots and animals. In fact, this is how he became friends with the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic mascots.

THE MAKE UP MIX SHOP

Saturday, December 12, 2009 0

The makeup mix shop http://makeupmasala.com/shop/index.php is the best online store ever. The owner Toma is very patient and takes the time to answer any questions that I may have.

The products she sells are priced very well and are wonderful products.

I can't stop myself from browsing the website.

After I purchased my first set of items I bought another set of items...even when I hadn't even received the first set of stuff. You can say that might be risky..but I really like the stuff.

so here's a quick glimpse

this is the package:

Toma wrapped it in a nice xmas gingerbread wrapper to keep everything together

here's my stuff

I bought:

an elf studio concealer brush
an elf studio powder brush
costal scent gel liner in truffle
ecotools angled eyeliner brush
an elf eyeshadow brush

not much but Im very pleased

costal scent gel liner in truffle. it is actually very very good. i'm quite surprised. I will later compare it to my MAC fluidline

and I used this brush to apply it

this is a really old design. I've had it for a week now. you can see the chipping.

It's really crude and I did it really fast and I was just about to take it off but then I realized hey I should take a pic of it now that I have a blog.

M63 + pink nail polish base avon + fushia top I have forgotten the brand + silver M63 swirl on top

i'm so new to konad and i'm so cheap. I can't afford konad polishes so I've been trying all the old nail polish I have and it seems sally hansen works alright.

konad is a very expensive addiction. I would love to get more plates since I only have 2 but I really can't afford it right now so there will definately be repeated patterns. I'll try to be creative.

anywho....yesterday I was holding onto my konad plate and it's kind of hard to explain but I was putting a lot of pressure on the sides of the konad plate and it sliced my thumb. there was quite a bit of blood, I didn't think it would be able to cut my thumb..but then again it is metal.

i'm off nail design for a bit right now because when I used my thumb it bleeds a lot..konading requires a lot of washing/ cleaning up and I really don't want to get my band-aid wet infections etc....it's rather sad i will miss konading.

when holding konad plate like below don't put too much pressure on it. It is very sharp

I'm a beginner ...I hate to admit it but I am addicted

these are my first nails.  definately some smudges and irregular  parts but I'm still pleased with them.

hi

ohI've been attacked by the konad bug.

I'm addicted. I can spend hours looking at websites and konad designs.

It is rather expensive but i'm in love.

This blog will hopefully be updated and grow as my nail polish and konad plates grow.

I'm sitting at about 4 nail polish colors that work with konad and maybe 10 base colors. I'm really cheap so I end up buying dollar store nail polishes and they just don't do. But I've been watching the sale for sally insta dri so i'm hoping they will be one sale around 3.99 instead of on sale at 5.99.

oh I should mention that my blog is called short wide nails because I pretty much have short wide nails. This isn't ideal with konad as it doesn't look as nice and there is very little surface area but I make do with what I have.

I used to bite my nails when I was a kid so my nails are different looking. I love the french tip design but really I can't do it. If I do do a french tip nail design i'm really stretching it and making it up. I thought the internet needs more variety in nails types so I started by website blog.

yay
